Cabo Blanco is a super fast reef break located about 7 kms from the town of El Alto ( km 1137 panamerican )
Cabo blanco requires a north/ north-eastly swell, met by a westerly wind.
The sheer speed of this wave and the sharp rocky reef shallowly submerged below water level makes it a wave for advanced riders only, cabo blanco is for advanced riders or those who rnjoy inflicting pain apon themselves.

La Boca

Caminito, La Boca

Colourful La boca is situated along side the old port of Rio Riachuelo.
La Boca was built by Italian immigrants from Genoa.
Caminito( the most well known street in La Boca) is a cluster of corrigated iron buildings, each buliding expressing it's individuality through contrasting expressions of colour. Artistic as it may seem, it's more by chance then artistic flair that caminito is so colourful.
Left over paint used from ships docked in Riachuelo's port was the closest thing La Bocas residents had to a paint shop.

Punta Huanchaco

Huanchaco is an exposed beach break, located 15 minutes from the city of Trujillo on peru's north coast.
The Majority of peru's waves break above a rocky reef floor, and Huanchaco is no exception, however the reef here is quite deep making it a much fuller wave, suitable for all levels.
The best time to surf Huanchaco is in the winter months May-Sep when big southerly ground swells pound the perivian coast, however it's possible to get waves here year round.

Peru would have to be one of the most diverse countries in South America, from the desert sand dunes that have plagued it's coast line, to the dense Amazon rainforest in the north east. dividing these lanscapes and the direct cause of their extreme contrast is the mighty mountain range "Los Andes"( the Andes), Peru boasts South Americas largest mountain ' Hascaran' measuring an amazing 6700m.

How to get there

Cabo Blanco is located on peru's far nothern coast roughly 32km from talara.
There are daily flights to Talara from Lima ( estimated time: 1 1/2 hours).
Or by road, located 1181km along the panamerican highway( basically the only major highway in peru).
From Talara you can catch a taxi to Cabo blanco.
